Guitar Preparation and Techniques for Chopsticks 

1) Preparations

Step 1 - wrap a hair tie around the fifth fret of the guitar. It should lightly touch the strings so it mutes them a little bit.

Step 2 - if needed, adjust tightness with a pen. We used one with a rubber grip so it wouldn't slip around as much.

Step 3 - thread a chopstick (over/under) through all six strings of the guitar at the theoretical 24th fret. Start over the low E string as illustrated.
